LAHORE: The process of vote counting is underway in Lahore’s NA-122 and PP-147 and Okara’s NA-144 after the daylong polling process ended at 5:00pm.
The polling for by-elections in NA-122 and PP-147 Lahore and NA-144 Okara has ended peacefully. However, the voters inside the polling stations have been allowed to cast their votes.
According to initial results PML-N candidate Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has bagged 2340 votes while PTI candidate Abdul Aleem Khan got 1758 votes in 12 out of total 284 polling stations so far.
Meanwhile, PML-N candidate Ali Arif Chaudhry has bagged 2055 votes while independent candidate Riazul Haq got 2335 votes in 12 out of total 210 polling stations .
So far it is very early to say which candidate is going to win the contest but the scenario is telling that PML-N candidate in NA-122, Ayaz Sadiq, will regain his seat by winning the by-polls but it will be a nail biting contest.
