SHEIKHUPURA: Prime Minister of Pakistan Miyaan Mohammad Nawaz Sharif on Thursday inaugurated a 1180 Mega Watt power project in Sheiklhupura, Punjab, TheNewsTribe.com reported.
PM laid foundation stone of the power project, Chief Minister Punjab Miyaan Mohammad Shahbaz Sharif was also present in the ceremony.
Bhikkih power project will be completed by the end of 2017, CM said.
While addressing to the gathering, CM Punjab said country is facing two major problems, terrorism and power shortage.
He mentioned Pakistan Army’s sacrifices to curb terrorism and said PML-N government has taken vow to vanish load-shedding from Pakistan.
For this purpose, he said, several energy units are being installed in the country, Bhikkih power project is one of the many.
PM Nawaz Sharif mentioned CM Punjab’s commitment towards the issue. He said government has taken many steps and started many new projects in the country, for this, it should be credited.
PM said that these projects will help to accomplish government’s mission to enlighten Pakistan and curb load shedding issue.
PM said he never promised to end load shedding in six months and said some ‘non-serious’ factors are propagating false statements with his name.
He announced to control shortage of electricity till 2017-18.
