Sexist Approach In Lollywood

soha-ali-abro

Media – radio, television, theater and film industry plays a fundamental role in a nations’ character building. It can either make one a responsible citizen or indulge him in things as worthless as a miss-matched pair of socks.

It has the power to set trends in a society may it be promoting literature or some absurd fashion. And, unfortunately, it depends on the people who control it; the Lords of Media. And well, Pakistan is straightaway unlucky in that field.

Considering the fact that India is our next-door neighbor and that they will try to influence our children with their sexist approach, we needed to be more careful than ever. That is where we lost it.

I am not a feminist and I, certainly don’t need to be one. But that won’t make me refrain from saying the truth out loud. Yes, the truth.

Women are not equal to men; they have always been superior. Not only because they give birth to one half of the society and raise the other half. But because they simply are!

Women are NOT ‘objects’ that you can please yourself with. They are NOT ‘toys’ that you can play with as you may like. And they, sure as hell, are NOT some ‘delicate showpiece’ that you can break anytime you feel like it!

I don’t know what they are trying to tell our youth by making films like “Jawani Phir Nahi Aani” and “Dekh Magar Pyar Se”. I don’t understand what the hidden agenda might be – besides flaunting jawani in  youth – behind it all.

With songs like ‘Gutka mein hun chaba ley, Baja mein hun baja ley’ and ‘tutti fruiti’ and ‘selfiyan’ what kind of culture are they trying to promote? As if ‘Munnis’ and ‘Sheelas’ and ‘babydolls’ weren’t enough!

Women are NOT ‘eatables’ for crying out loud! Do they know that the hype these songs created, resulted in an increase in ‘Rape Culture’ in India? Is that it then? Are they trying to do the same to our children? Didn’t they take heed in what it cost the children there?

Movies like these triggers sexual frustration in both men and women. And we do not want these so-called liberals to flaunt our kids with their sexist approach.

Such movies are the reason of the increase in rape cases over the past few decades all around the world.

I wonder how they could allow such atrocities in “Islamic Republic of Pakistan”. And I wonder how their mothers would be grieving for giving birth to such creeps.

We, seriously, need to ban such movies – and actors as well – if we don’t want our future generations to live in the world they are trying to create for them. And we need to teach our children – specially boys – respect for the opposite sex.

Because as long as we don’t teach manners to our boys, our daughters will continue becoming ‘Munnis’ and ‘Sheelas’.
