Pakistan beat Zimbabwe in 3rd ODI to seal the series 2-1

HARARE: Pakistan thump Zimbabwe in third and final One Day International (ODI) by 7 wickets to seal the series 2-1, at Harare Sports Club, Harare.

Pakistan under new skipper Sarfraz looked fresh and fine as their regular captain Azhar missed the series decider due to foot infection.

Sarfraz won the toss and straightaway chose to bowl first.

Zimbabwe, who had found their rhythm in second match of the series, continued the show off in first 20 overs of the innings.

Zimbabwean openers, despite deadly bowling from Wahab and Irfan, not only survived but kept scoring runs and scored 47/0 in first ten overs f the power-play.

Things further tightened for Pakistan when the host batsmen played Pakistani spinners smoothly in start.

The first breakthrough for visitors came in 19th over when Chibhabha was caught and bowled by Bilal Asif on 89, he scored 48 of 86 balls.

Pakistan never looked back from their and with Bilal Asif’s five-for,  rolled up all Zimbabwean team on 161 within 39th overs.

Young Mutumbami was the top scorer with 67 runs.

Visitors were cautious in pursue of the target and then set themselves free after first few overs.

Bilal Asif was first to depart with 38 when Pakistan were 58-1 in 13th over.

Pakistan chased down the target comfatably in the end with 7 wickets in hand.

Asad Shafiq with 38 and Shoaib Malik with quick 34 carried the bat.
