Sales tax on petroleum products reached to historic peak

ISLAMABAD: Sales tax on petroleum products in Pakistan has reached to the historic highest peak for the very first time in the history of Pakistan.

According to details, cut in prices of petroleum products in International oil market was supposed to benefit the Pakistani people but government has took the benefit it self.

Pakistan government is taking 50% sales tax on Diesel, 26 % on petrol and 30% on kerosene oil and the sales tax on petroleum products will be applied to Pakistani nation from October 1.

While on the other side senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Asad Umer has criticised the government over the sales tax and said government promised to reduce the sales tax but it did not happened in fact government has took the benefit of cut in petroleum prices in international oil market it self.
