HARARE – Pakistani bowlers showed brilliant bowling again and put Zimbabwean batsmen in trouble on Thursday in first One Day International match of the series.

Pakistani bowlers sent back three batsmen of host team on the score of 54 runs. Yasir Shah bowled out the opner of Zimbabwe team Chari. He scored just 16 runs.

CJ Chibhabha scored 12 runs and lost his wicket on the ball of young Imad Wasim. Yasir Shah also took the wicket of Masakadza. He managed to put 15 runs on the board.

Host team so far scored 65 runs in 21 overs with the lost of three wickets.

Earlier, Pakistan have set a sizable target of 260 for Zimbabwe in first of the three-match One Day International series at Harare Cricket Club.

Zimbabwe captain Elton Chigumbura put Pakistan to bat after winning the toss, saying that they will try to restrict Pakistan under 250 and very succeeded in the first task.

Azhar Ali when asked, said he would have chosen the same but ‘team have to adjust to conditions.

Pakistan’s top order once again failed to produce runs as first three wickets collapsed on 35 runs in ten overs with Shehzad adding 12, Azhar 11 and Hafeez 10 into the total.

Malik and Sarfraz built up a small partnership but failed to convert as Malik got out on 31 and then Sarfraz also left the wicket after adding 44 to the total.

Mohammad Rizwan and Imad Waseem, the newly inducted lower middle order batsmen took responsibility and took the score from 128-5 to 256-5 in 50 overs.
