Italian citizen shot dead in Bangladesh

DHAKA: An Italian citizen was killed on Monday by unidentified gunmen in the Dhaka, Bangladeshi capital.

According to details by Dhaka Metropolitan Police, Cesare Tavella, who was around 50 years of age and was working for Netherlands-based non-governmental organisation in Bangladesh, was killed in Dhaka’s diplomatic zone while he was exercising his evening walk.

He further added was rushed to hospital where doctors declared him dead. No further details of murder was exposed immediately.

While on other hand, Islamic State (IS), terrorist organization, claimed in an online statement  the responsibility for the attack, saying his attackers followed him and shot him dead.

Police said they were not aware of the claim, which could not be independently verified.
