US spy Shakeel Afridi’s barrack incharge killed in Charsadda

PESHAWAR: The Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of Peshawar Central Jail and his brother on Thursday has been gunned down unidentified gunmen in Charsadda, District of Khyber PakhtunKhwa, Pakistan.

According to Police officials in Charsadda (DSP) Zahir Shah was shot while he was exchanging Eid greetings at his guesthouse in Charsadda’s Mandai site.

He was the barrack incharge of US spy Shakeel Afridi while locals said that four gunmen arrived on motorcycles and two went inside his ‘hujra’ showing themselves as visitors to exchange Eid greetings with Shah.

The attackers opened fire on the DSP following which his brother, who was nearby, rushed to the scene with a gun. The two gunmen who were waiting outside shot Zahir Shah’s brother, the residents said.

Local Police station chief said “Unknown gunmen shot dead Zahir Shah and his brother and fled on motorcycles.”

District police chief Shafi Ullah has confirmed the incident.
