Fresh heatstroke takes three more lives in Karachi

KARACHI: Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) on Saturday has advised Karachiites to take precautionary steps as three people lost their lives due to fresh heatstroke in Karachi, Pakistan.

According to details, the Met department has predicted a 5 to 6 degrees increase in heat on September 18, 19 and 20 and temperature can reach above 40 degrees.

The decrease in humidity in air will likely to increase heat index and prompt emergency situation. Director Health Services Zafar Ejaz has told that the citizens should take precautionary measures during these three days.

Chief municipal officer has advised the locals to use maximum quantity of water and to use towel or cloth around their necks while going out.

According to recent reports two people were died in the morning and now one more person has lost his life due to heat stroke in Bufferzone, site in Karachi. Several patients have been admitted to hospitals due to new heat wave.

It is to be kept in mind that nearly 1200 people had died due to severe heatstrokes in the month of June this year in Karachi.
