LAHORE – Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday accepted the plea filed against acceptance of the nomination papers of PTI candidate Abdul Aleem Khan and PML-N Sardar Ayaz Sadiq for NA-122 by-election in court.
Lahore High Courts’s two-member election tribunal bench accepted the plea to hear the petition of Istiaq Chaudhry.
Earlier, Ishtiaq Chaudhary, Candidate of Awami Tehreek, on Wednesday has challenged acceptance of the nomination papers of PTI candidate Abdul Aleem Khan and PML-N Sardar Ayaz Sadiq for NA-122 by-election in court.
He further petitioned that both candidates do not meet the requirements set under Article 62 and 63 of the constitution of Pakistan for a candidate of public office.
He further appealed to court to declare the decision of the Returning Officer as ineffective who has approved the nomination papers of both these candidates besides the objections.
