PTI challenges eligibility of Ayaz Sadiq in ECP

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)  has challenged former National Assembly speaker Ayaz Sadiq’s eligibility in his constituency NA-122, Lahore, in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Monday.

According to details, Aleem Khan, candidate of PTI in NA-122, challenged former speaker’s eligibility as election candidate in the ECP.

Aleem Khan was of the opinion in the filed petition that Ayaz Sadiq was fined  Rs 25 lac in election tribunal verdict but he was yet to pay that fine and he also did not took stay from court on not paying the fine.

Moreover, the petition further states that Sadiq is not eligible under Article 62 and Article 63 of constitution of Pakistan. PTI candidate requested the ECP to declare Sadiq ineligible for the election.
