Death toll of Pakistani pilgrims in Makkah crane crash reaches 11

JEDDAH: The death toll of Pakistani pilgrims in Makkah crane crash has escalated to 11 while as many as 36 Pakistanis are under treatment in various hospitals of Makkah.

According to details, Ali Raza, Gul Abdul Mannan, Naz Muhammad, Amber Bahadur Shah, Niaz Ali Niaz and Ahmad Faiz Ahmad were identified by their relatives and with the help of their identification documents. Relatives of 5 of the martyrs have been found while the relatives of the 6th Pakistani martyr are still being searched for.

Meanwhile, Pakistani Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Manzoor-ul-Haq has assured to bury the martyrs as per families’ will.

Earlier, a massive construction crane collapsed into Makkah s Grand Mosque in stormy weather on Friday, killing at least 107 people and injuring 238, Saudi authorities said, days before the annual hajj pilgrimage.
