RAWALPINDI: Sialkot Region on Saturday beat Rawalpindi Region by 19 runs to qualify for the semi finals of the Cool and Cool Presents Haier Mobile T-20 Cup, at Pindi Stadium, Rawalpindi.
Shoaib Malik-led Sialkot Region after winning the toss selected to bat first and put a good total of 176/4 in their 20 overs.
Haris Sohail’s 50 of 45 and skipper Shoaib Malik’s 48 of 28 were the top score from Sialkot Region.
Rawalpindi Region in reply lost their openers early and could not get the required momentum. Shoaib Malik’s experienced captaincy did not let Sialkot players play their shots freely and restricted them 19 runs short at the end of the innings.
Malik’s quick 48 of 28 got him the Man of the Match award along with the much needed win in the event.
