Student Week: Tussle between Karachi Uni administration, Student organizations rises

KARACHI: Tussle between Karachi University (KU) administration and student organizations raised on Thursday after KU administration prevented student organizations from arranging programs during the ongoing student week, TheNewsTribe.com reported

According to details, KU has been observing student week in which students arrange different programs, seminars and fun activities and invite guests to add colours in it.

However, this time, KU administration took strict action on the issue and banned any activity under the banner of student organization.

A carnival has been organised by Muttahiqa Qaumi Movemet’s (MQM) affiliated All Pakistan Muttahida Students Organisation (APMSO) during KU’s student week.

Members National Assembly from MQM were chief guests during the carnival. APMSO criticized the ban on Altaf Hussain’s speech and publication of his pictures in local media.

KU had previously stopped students from bringing in any guest without seeking prior permission from administration after news broke into media in which Dollar Girl Ayan Ali attended an academic activity in Karachi University.

The issue became the hot topic and KU administration was widely criticised for its negligence.

Meanwhile, Governor Sindh Dr Ishrat ul Ibad also took notice of fun fair activity and use of loud speakers in Karachi University without prior permission.
