Love making in Afghanistan leads to 100 lashes punishment

KABUL – An Afghan coupleĀ faced punishment of 100 lashes in front of a crowd in the western province of Afghanistan, Ghor.

The couple received this punishment after being found guilty of adultery.

Public lashing were common in in era of Taliban but these punishments are rare now.

The crowd observed the punishment on theirĀ seats. The accused woman was wrapped in a burqa from head-to-toe.

This punishment was also backed by the provincial government and declared this punishment according to Islamic laws.

A spokesman for governor Seema Jowenda said that ā€œThey had relations a long time ago but were arrested early this month.ā€

ā€œTheir punishment is based on Sharia law and will teach others a lesson,ā€ he added.
