KARACHI: Health department of Sindh government is all set to provide Rs 500 million as a grant to a private hospital in Karachi.
Conditions of government hospital across the Sindh is miserable and government is hardly taking any measures to make them better for patients.
According to credible sources in health department in Sindh, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), the ruling party in Sindh has continued to ignore the government hospitals in the province but they are going to give Rs 500 million as a health grant to a private hospital in North Nazimabad, Karachi.
PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto stated that worst condition of government hospitals in Sindh is all because of Mutahidda Qaumi Movement (MQM) which has mostly handle heath department in Sindh.
Furthermore, that private hospital which is going to get grant is owned by former federal cabinet has two branches in the city and treatment charges are out of reach for poor people but it will get such a huge grant just because its owner is close to PPP.
When Secretary health,Dr Khalid Sheikh, was contacted on this issue he said no such move was into his knowledge.
