Umar Gul eyes to make comeback

PESHAWAR: Pakistani fast bowling spearhead Umer Gul has been working hard with his fitness to make a comeback in National Team.

Umar Gul, who played 47 Tests, 126 one-day internationals and 58 Twenty20 Internationals for Pakistan, has not been quite able to regain fitness after his knee surgery in 2013.

Gul was included in Pakistani side after retirement of two legendary fast bowlers Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis and he was paired with many pacers but after the spot-fixing scandal in 2010 he became the spearhead of Pakistani pace bowling and he is often termed as ‘yorker specialist’ in shorter formats of Cricket.

He has twice figures of five wicket-haul for six runs in T20 Internationals, once against New Zealand at ‘The Oval’, England, during Pakistan’s triumphant World T20 campaign in 2009 and then against South Africa at Centurion in 2013.

Pakistani opening batsman is very excited the way Gul is training and he tweeted about Umar Gul.

he wrote,“Jubilant to [see] him working hard for his comeback and doesn’t he look in good shape guys,”
