Former Federal Minister Dr. Asim under arrest

KARACHI: Former Federal Minister to petroleum Dr. Asim hussain has been arrested from his office

Former Minister was taken into custody by sensitive agencies in Karachi. Dr. Asim, who is considered as a close aide of former President Asif Ali Zardari, was facing several cases of corruption filed against him by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

He was appointed as Federal Petroleum Minister during Pakistan Peoples Party’s Government in 2008. He was currently serving as Chairman Sindh Higher Education Commission (SHEC).

Today, officials of sensitive agencies who were wearing civil dresses raided Dr. Asim’s residence in Clifton area and collared him for investigation into the corruption charges, also they took certain important documents with them from Dr. Asim’s office.
