After Pakistan, another Muslim country banned Bollywood movie ‘Bangistan’

MUMBAI – After facing ban in Pakistan Bollywood movie ‘Bangistan’ has beenĀ banned in United Arab Emirates.

According to Indian media, upcoming Indian movie ‘Bangistan’ faced ban in UAE, a day before its grand opening in Dubai.

Ritesh Deshmukh’s movie also failed to get certificate from Singapore’s censor board and faced another ban.

Producer Ritesh Sidhwani said “I’m shocked, Dubai is a large market and this decision will affect us.”

Earlier,Ā Bollywood movie ā€˜Bangistanā€™ wasĀ banned in Pakistan just after its official trailer released, India media claimed.

Bollywood movie ā€˜Bajrani Bhaijaanā€™ successfully running in Indian cinemas and also in Pakistan. But latest movie ā€˜Bangistanā€™ was banned in Pakistan due to anti-Pakistan content.

Director of the movie, Karan Anshuman wrote a letter to Pakistan High Commission and censor board to review the decision.

He wrote in letter that Ā ā€œBasing their judgement on the trailer alone, they have decided that the film is anti-Pakistan and anti-Muslim. If anything, itā€™s anti-terrorism and since Pakistan is as much a victim of this global menace as any other country, it is in their interest to screen the film. Itā€™s message is that itā€™s foolish to give up your life for a cause youā€™ll not live to fight for.ā€
