Mahela Jayawardene joins ECB as batting consultant

 

LONDON – Former Sri Lankan captain Mahela Jayawardene will join England cricket team as batting consultant.

According to details, Mahela Jawardene will join England cricket team as batting consultant and he will join the English team before the Test series against Pakistan.

Jayawardene will be part of England coaching team in the the Test , One Day International and Twenty20 series against Pakistan at United State Emirates.

He is not full time member of England Board Staff but is likely to be contracted for some time. He will coach the English batsman how to play the spinners.

Mahela was known as one of the best player of spinner. Jayawardene has made 12650 runs at average 33.32 with help of 19centuries and 77 half-centuries in his 448ODIs and his best score is 144 runs in a one-day.
