Chitral flooding death toll rises to 30

CHITRAL: The death toll from floods in Chitral has risen to 30 after 21 people lost their lives during the last 24 hours with more downpours are expected.

Heavy rain last night has worsened the flood situation in Chitral. Flood waters from nearby mountains also caused widespread devastation in the area.

At least 50 areas have been cut off due to the destruction of Mozgul Bridge from the floods.

According to the ISPR, Pakistan Army’s flood relief efforts continue in affected areas. 200 tents have been provided to affected people while ration for 300 families have been provided by Gilgit Baltistan.

Meanwhile, 180 people stranded in Kalash and Boni have been shifted by an Army helicopter to Chitral.
