ABU DHABI: As the moon sighting committee meets today after Maghrib prayers under minister of Justice Sultan bin Saeed Al Badi, the committee believes there are ‘very high chances’ of moon sighting today in UAE.
The Supreme Judiciary Council of Saudi Arabia will also meet today to witness the Shawwal crescent.
Muslims in the Middle East, Europe and the US will be anxiously waiting for the announcement of Eid Al Fitr as majority in Western countries follow Saudi Arabia’s Islamic Hijri calendar.
However, the astronomers have some other news for the Muslims around the globe. According to the experts, the Eid 2015 may fall on the same day (July 18, 2015) across the world with KSA, UAE.
In this case, experts believe Saudis and other Arabs will observe Ramadan 2015 for 30 days while other parts including South Asia, USA, UK, Canada, Australia and EU will do the same for 29 days.
So with this equation, there are fair chances for Eid al-Fitr 2015 to fall on the same day (July 18), astronomers believe.
