Kashmiris accross globe remember 1931 martyrs today

SRINAGAR – Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control  and all across the globe observes Youm-e-Shuhda Kashmir (Martyrs  Day) on Monday.

The call for the march has been jointly given by Hurriyet leaders; Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik.

Hurriyet leaders, in their addresses on martyrs’ day paid rich tribute to the martyrs.

It was on 13 July 1931 when the Dogra troops killed 22 Kashmiris, one after the other, outside the Central Jail in Srinagar.

Meanwhile, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred three Kashmiri youths during a siege and search operation in Keran area of Kupwara district, on Sunday.

Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) President Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan said people of Jammu and Kashmir have been rendering sacrifices in line with the Kashmir martyrs who offered their precious blood in front of Srinagar central Jail in 1931.

Meanwhile, Indian forces in their recent act of state terrorism martyred three Kashmiri youths during a search operation in Keran area of Kupwara district, on Sunday.

It is a close holiday in Azad Jammu and Kashmir today and functions, seminars and rallies will be held throughout the state to pay homage to the martyrs of 1931.
