Fire engulfs boats at Dubai Creek

DUBAI: Two boats caught fire in Dubai Creek on Monday afternoon, Gulf News reported.

Dubai Civil Defence spokesperson also confirmed the incident saying that there were no injuries or deaths reported yet.

He added that teams from five fire stations, Al Ras, Al Karama, Al Rashidiya, Port Saeed and Sea Rescue fire stations are on the scene battling the blaze.

“The operations room received a call about the fire at a 3:04pm. As of now, there are two boats on fire, but we can’t say anything about the damages as yet,” he said.

An eyewitness said he could see thick black smoke when he was on his way home from Al Karama.
