Former president of Azad Kashmir, Sardar Abdul Qayyum passes away

MUZAFFARABAD – The former President of Azad Kashmir, Sardar Abdul Qayyum Khan passed away in Abbottabad today (Friday).

According to sources, former president had been suffering from a serious lung condition for the few years before his death.

Sardar Abdul Qayyum possess the honor of firing a first bullet at Indian occupied forces in Kashmir.

He also remained chairman of Kashmir committee and was among the founders of  Kashmiris’ struggle for freedom.

Sardar Abdul Qayyum Khan was also the supreme leader of “Muslim Conference” in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and was also very active member of Pakistan Independence movement.
