Senate adopts Islamabad local government amendment bill

ISLAMABAD  – The Upper House of Parliament in Pakistan has approved the amended bill regarding Islamabad Local Governments.

According to the details, Federal Interior Minister, Chauhdhry Nisar Ali khan has tabled the bill into the senate.

Sources revealed that bill had been approved with 20 amendments. Amendments in the bill would allow to organize elections on party bases.

Earlier,  Election Commission of Pakistan has scheduled elections on the 25th of July but Supreme Court rejected this schedule because of the absence of constitutional cover to these elections.

Moreover, the hearing of the case is adjourned until August 3.
