Provincial minister from KPK arrested in Peshawar

PESHAWAR – In a major move against corrupt officials, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Ehtesab Commission arrested on Thursday provincial  in a case related to alleged illegal assets. Minister for minerals, Zia Ullah Khan Afridi   in a case related to alleged illegal assets.

According to media reports, Zia Ullah Afridi was also accused of abuse of power and and corruption.

Sources revealed that Zia Ullah Afridi is very close to the Chief Minister of KPK, Pervez Khattak.

Earlier, A local accountability court on Tuesday also indicted former provincial police officer Malik Naveed Khan and former budget officer of police Javed Khan for receiving kickbacks from a private contractor and inflicting a loss of Rs2031.25 million during the procurement of weapons and equipment for the police department in 2009-10.
