THATHA: Electricity supply to Dhabeji pumping station has been disconnected causing suspension of water supply to huge area of Karachi.
According to the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) the electricity supply to Dhabeji pumping station has been disconnected after electricity breakdown in Karachi as well as at Dhabeji pumping station.
The KWSB also stated that due to electricity failure, a back pressure of water resulted in burst up of water supply line from which thousands of gallon water have been wasted.
According to the MD Water Board Misbah Farid, the pipeline of 72 inches diameter of Dhabeji pumping station exploded due to repeatedly interruption in power supply.
