NEW DELHI – India has rested several senior players including regular captain MS Dhoni for their upcoming tour of Zimbabwe in the next month.
Ajinkya Rahane will lead the side during the tour in which Indian team will play Three One Day Internationals and two T20 internationals.
Harbhajan Singh who was part of test side during Bangladesh tour has been selected in ODI team after four years.
Apart from Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan and Ravichandran Ashwin have also been rested after India’s disappointing tour of Bangladesh where they lost the three-match series 2-1.
According to official of Indian cricket board, team director Ravi Shastri will not tour Zimbabwe either.
The board would meet next month to discuss who would replace position of Duncan Fletcher as the new head coach, he added.
