US to walk into World Cup 2015 Semi Final without Hope

TORONTO: FIFA Women’s World CUp 2015 is entering final stages in Canada and USA come face to face or rather knee to knee with Germany on 30th June and goalkeeper Hope Solo is the weapon USA was relying on for their big win until she was suspended.

Solo is the one women army USA can rely on for their defenses as she stands top of the list with 11 saves in 5 matches and only 1 conceded goal in the first half and has a top notch save rate of 91.7. 175 cm tall Solo has had 175 international caps and debuted in 2000 against Iceland.

Solo has been subjected to controversies regarding her arrest on domestic violence charges and have been said to be abusive and aggresive to the police officers in June 2014. However, the 33 years old has coped up really well despite the controversies.

USA owes their start up win to Solo’s performance where she made five saves leading up to the fantastic save to save the day and the match.

She has been making history throughout the tournament while she tied and crossed the 173 matches mark with the legendary US goalkeeper Briana Scurry for most international played to the point where her performance took US to the quarter finals.

Hope was suspended for 30 days after she was was nearly arrested for disorderly conduct while her her husband, former NFL tight end Jerramy Stevens, was arrested for drink driving. US coach Jill Ellis stated that “During our current national team camp, Hope made a poor decision that has resulted in a negative impact on US Soccer and her team-mates and We feel at this time it is best for her to step away from the team.”

The two-time Olympic medalist and winner of the 2011 FIFA WOrld Cup Golden Glove award has been deemed the best goalkeeper in women’s football across the globe and has had more shutouts than any goalkeeper in the US history.
