Leicester signs Japan striker Okazaki

LEICESTER: English Premier League club Leicester on Friday has officially announced signing of Japanese striker Shinji Okazaki for a for-year-deal.

He will be seventh Japanese footballer to feature in English Premier League.

Okazaki has previously played for Stuttgart and recently completed four-and-a-half years in German club Mainz.

Leicester announced the signing late Friday and said Okazaki has agreed to a four-year deal, with the move subject to gaining a work permit and international clearance. The transfer fee was not disclosed.

The 29-year-old Okazaki is the most prolific Japanese player in Bundesliga history. Internationally, he is currently the top active Japan national team goals corer and third all-time in team history with 43 goals in 93 games.
