Shahzad and Azhar drive Pakistan forward in 2nd innings

COLOMBO – Opening batsman Ahmed Shahzad and captain of ODI team, Azhar Ali looks confident after early departure of Mohammed Hafeez on the third day of second test in Colombo.

Pakistan’s second innings began on a note similar to their first, only this time it was Mohammad Hafeez who was out first. Shahzad and Azhar batted sensibly and build a partnership of over 100 runs.

Both Azhar and Shehzad looked positive, an approach that will only help Pakistan as they aim to set Sri Lanka a challenging target. Shahzad got his fifty from 92 balls while Azhar Ali was not out on 45 off 110 balls.

Earlier Sri Lanka were bowled out on 315 and took leading of  177 runs over Pakistan, as Pakistan managed to score only 138 runs in their first innings.
