Facebook, Twitter and Google celebrate Marriage Equality

ISLAMABAD: United States Supreme Court decision to legalize same sex marriages came as a celebration across the globe and the big three IT and Social Media giants Facebook, Google and Twitter are celebrating it in their own customized styles.

Facebook introduced a new feature that allows to impose a rainbow over your profile picture. Mark Zuckerberg personally announced the Celberate Pride tool after the ruling by US Supreme Court allowing same-sex marriage was announced.

Zukerberg is of the view that USA was founded on the promise of equality and this is just another step towards truly acheiving that promise.

Twitter is not far from facebook in celebration for gender equality and announced another step into gender equality after placing a rainbow on the official Twitter profile picture with a #HeforShe campaign in collaboration with UNWomen.




Google is celebrating in it’s traditional style by places smartly placed small indicators throughout the google services including Google Search, Google Maps and Android. Google placed this simple rainbow heart and rainbow human chain on Search. And these tweets on their oficcial Android and Maps Twitter pages.

Across the web, most of the major brands including Apple, Uber, AT&T, White House and others are showing their support for the LGBT Pride in their own way whereas the Hashtag #LoveWins has been used by millions across the globe to show their support.
