Rain stops the match near to call off the day

COLOMBO – Rain has interrupted the second day of the second test match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka, and the day call off just before the actual time on Friday.

Struggling team Pakistan has taken 9 wickets, while Sri Lanka has managed to score 304 runs at the close of the day thanks to the Kushal Silva’s 80 runs.

Sri Lanka, while having upper hand in the match, secure the lead of 166 runs with one wicket still remaining.

Pakistan gets a blow when the star bowler Wahab Riaz got injured and sent back to dressing room.

Yasir Shah supported the dangling bowling line up Pakistan under the circumstances and took 5 wickets for his team.

He also became the first Pakistani bowler to get 50 quick wickets in test cricket, leaving behind legendary Waqar Younis and Muhammad Asif.

He registered this record in his 9 test match when he took the wicket of host skipper Angelo Mathews.

Earlier, Pakistan team got out on merely 138 runs in its first innings, with Muhammad Hafeez was the top scorer at 42 runs.

Pakistan is leading the three test match series by 1-0, with third test to be played after this.
