ISLAMABAD:Facebook is finally living up to Mark Zuckerbergs dream and transforming into What’s app, the newly added sign up option is a tell tale.
Users can now sign up on Facebook messenger using their phone number instead of a Facebook acccount. This feature is clearly a move to broaden the app’s reach to transform into a stand alone platoform to turn it into “bigger than Facebook”.
The feature is currently available in United States, Canada, Peru and Venezuela however it would soon be rolled out to the rest of the world.
Facebook after recently acquiring What’s app for around $22 billion is now looking to bring the 800 million monthly active users together. This new feature requires your phone number to sign up and you can upload a picture as well.
