Khawaja Asif advises MQM to register defamation case on BBC

ISLAMABAD – Federal Defense Minister, Khwaja Asid advised Mutahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) to register case of defamation against BBC for publishing report.

Federal Minister said that these allegations of money laundering, funding from India are not ordinary and government should investigate the allegations impeached by BBC.

He also said that MQM should register defamation case against British news organisation to regain the credibility of party.

On the other hand, senior leader of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Wasay Jalil, said that the report of BBC is merely a table story, and we have been witnessing such confession since 1992.

The senior leader of MQM also said that BBC story is just like a propaganda against MQM.

It is worth mentioning here, BCC report  came up during investigation of UK authoritative from MQM officials for alleged money laundering. UK authorities told that a list of weapons was also found in an MQM property.

According to report, a Pakistani official told the BBC that India has trained hundreds of MQM militants over the last 10 years.

There was a complete denial from Indian authorities describing the claims as “completely baseless”. While MQM refused to comment over the issue.

BBC claimed that a Pakistani official has accepted in a recorded interview that India has trained hundreds of MQM militants in explosives, weapons and sabotage over the last 10 years in camps in north and north-east India.

Before 2005-2006 the training was given to a small number of mid-ranking members of the MQM, the official said. More recently greater numbers of more junior party members have been trained.

The UK authorities started investigating the MQM in 2010 when a senior party leader, Imran Farooq, was stabbed to death outside his home in north London
