First of Ramadan to be on Friday: Mufti Munib ur Rehman

KARACHI – Chairman Roet e Hilal Committee Mufti Munib ur Rehman announced that the first day Ramadan will observe on Friday, June 19 in Pakistan.

While talking to media persons he stated that moon not sighted in any part of Pakistan so the fasting month will start on Friday in Pakistan.

Earlier, Pakistan Meteorological Department said that there are a few chances of moon sighting in the country so it is expected the first day of Ramadan will be observed on Friday.

Rouet e Hilal Committee does not receive any evidence of moon sighting. Provincial moon sighting committees also take part in sighting the moon in different cities across the country.

Earlier, Saudi Arabia’s Supreme Court has announced that the first day of the Muslim holy fasting month of Ramadan will be Thursday June 18.
