Iran offers free vaccine to Pakistan in order to eradicate Polio

ISLAMABAD –  Iran offers help to Pakistan in health sector to counter various diseases including polio.

An Iranian delegation comprising health ministry and medical education officials arrived on Monday for a three days visit to explore options of extending cooperation between Iran and Pakistan.

According to the media reports, Iran offers free polio vaccines to Pakistan in order to eradicate polio. Since Iran produces a significant quantity of polio vaccines, it is keen to provide the same to Pakistan and Afghanistan, most likely free of charge.

 

According to Pakistan’s government officials, Pakistan and Afghanistan had recently been declared one epidemiological block in terms of the fight against polio. Against this background, Iran wanted to support both countries to put an end to this dangerous disease.
