Pervaiz Rashid clarifies the statement of PM regarding MQM

LAHORE – Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Senator Pervaiz Rashid has said on Saturday that the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) workers were not flies, they were ‘honey bees’ instead.

Pervaiz Rashid clarified that the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was only quoting someone else’s remarks.

Talking to media after presiding over a meeting of the Iqbal Academy’s Board of Governors, Pervaiz Rashid said that the Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, should focus on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) instead of criticizing others. “I think Imran Khan should become the Chief Minister of KP because the people of KP had voted for him and it was his duty to solve their problems”, he added.

Federal Minister said that the Prime Minister had been taking everyone along. “PM didn’t say anything that someone would object to. One thing was clear, MQM workers have become fond of honey”, he said.

Earlier, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that a protest strike was called in Karachi ‘even when a fly dies’. Nawaz Sharif also asked Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ibad to try to reduce the number of such strikes.

“Mr Governor, please listen to this carefully. Even if a fly dies in Karachi, a protest or a strike is called. Mr Governor, you should take notice of this and make arrangements (for this to end),” said the prime minister speaking at an event at the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) in Karachi.

He said that frequent strikes in Karachi should end because they affect the economy.
