Amir Khan ready to become next Floyd Mayweather

LONDON – The youngest British Olympic boxing medalist, Amir Khan, is due to have a conference call with adviser Al Haymon, who also works with boxing king Mayweather.

Amir Khan wins over American boxer, Chris Algieri, last weekend is not considered to be the convincing one but he is still at top of a shorlist of possible opponents for the undisputed world welter-weight king, Mayweather. It might be the last match of Mayweather before his retirement.

Besides Amir Khan, Miguel Cotto, star boxer from Puerto Rica, is also in this list who have lost to Mayweather in 2012 contest.

Other boxers who are hoping to get £10m pay-day contest include  Sheffield’s Kell Brook and Daniel Garcia. Brook, however, is more likely to face Brandon Rios in Sheffield on August 29 this year.

Mayweather says in news conference that his next fight will be his last and he is looking to extend his unbeaten record to 49 and stand with legendary Rocky Marciano.
