ISLAMABAD – The residents of the twin cities faced severe difficulties throughout the day due to inauguration ceremony of metro bus on Thursday.
According to sources, the residents complained that main roads were suddenly blocked since 8.30am in the morning by Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP). As a result, traffic was diverted to link roads which caused severe traffic jam.
Sources told that all the main markets of blue area were closed down in the wake of security measures because Prime Minister of Pakistan had to inaugurate the opening ceremony.
The routine life schedule of the capital remained suspended throughout the day due to unannounced plan of blocking the roads, adding that employees of several offices reached late due to unavailability of public transport at several places.
