LAHORE – For the convenience of general public and devolving them the right to access the information of development programs in their cities, Punjab Government has formed Punjab Information Commission.
The commission would be bound to receive the complaints as well in this regard. The public of Punjab can have access to the funds issued and developmental tenure of a particular project in their jurisdiction as per “Punjab Transparency and Right to Information Act 2013”.
The developmental projects pertaining to hospitals, educational institutes, roads, parks, dispensaries etc. would be made transparent through the right of access of general public into them.
According to the sources, if any authority refuses to allow the access of public to the internal matters of a developmental project or if any ambiguity or irregularity is not addressed by the concerned authority, the complaints for the same could be lodged with the Punjab Information commission.
