ISLAMABAD – The joint session of the parliament is underway in National Assembly. PM Nawaz Sharif, President Mamnoon Hussain, all the three services chiefs and foreign dignitaries attend the joint session.
According to the sources, Speaker National Assembly chairs the joint session. President Mamnoon Hussain would address the session containing both the houses.
President Mamnoon Hussain congratulated the parliament on the completion of another fiscal year by the democratic government.
He said that the country was passing through hardships and that the nation never refrained from contributing their sacrifices.
He also said that the Operation Zarb-e-Azb was vital for the elimination of terrorism. He further said that peace was required to achieve sustainable economic growth in Pakistan. President also emphasized on friendly relations with all the neighbors including India.
