WASHINGTON – United States’ Shadow Secretary, Jesse Jackson, has written a letter to President Obama to urge Pakistani Authorities for withdrawing ex-President of Pakistan, Pervez Musharraf, from Exit Control List (ECL).
According to sources, the letter sent to President Obama Stated that Pervez Musharraf was suffering health problems. Therefore, Obama should urge Pakistani government to remove his name from ECL.
The letter further stated that Pervez Musharraf helped United States during 9/11 crisis that is why US must play a role to help Musharraf in the hour of his crisis, said sources.
Former Military ruler and his family were also facing life threats from proscribed organizations for allegedly helping US in crushing terrorist’s networks, the letter stated.
It is pertinent to mention that Pervez Musharraf filed a number of appeals in Pakistani courts to permit for his health checkup abroad but courts rejected his appeals.
