Zimbabwe Goes Out; Cricket Comes Home

LAHORE – Zimbabwean Cricket team left Pakistan on the night of last One Day International (ODI) played between Pakistan and Zimbabwe, on Sunday, sowing the seeds of international Cricket back in Pakistan.

With security high alert and protection like President of any state, Zimbabwe team finished the Pakistan tour on high.

Zimbabwe is the first team to come to Pakistan after the unfortunate event happened with the Sri Lankan team in 2009 in Lahore.

Huge number of people came in Gaddafi Stadium to watch matches of international status on the soil of Pakistan after six years.

We have seen many people supporting Zimbabwe team and appreciating their attempt of helping Pakistan to come out of this misery state of not playing home cricket.

The government of Pakistan, Pakistan Cricket Board, Zimbabwe Cricket Board and last but not the least Zimbabwe cricket team are the agents of change of cricketing image of Pakistan in the whole world.

Zimbabwean team reached Pakistan on May 19, and first match (T20) between the two teams played on May 22, and the second match (T20) played on May 24.

Pakistan won both matches and register the series to its name by 2-0.

ODI series started on May 26, and other two matches played on May 29 and May 31 respectively.

Pakistan won the three match ODI series by 2-0, with one match ended up drawn due to stormy rain in Gaddafi Stadium.

The former test cricket and commentator of Pakistan, Ramiz Raja tweeted from the ground that people of Pakistan were captured chanting Zimbabwe Zimbabwe in love of the courage of Zimbabwe team

People of Pakistan are very delighted and thanked Zimbabwe team for its tour to Pakistan in a very tense climate. Zimbabwe Goes Out; Cricket Comes Home |TheNewsTribe.com   Former Captain of Pakistan, Inzamam ul Haq, also thanked Zimbabwe team in these words:  

Pakistani government, Pakistan Cricket Board and People of Pakistan has left no stone un-turned in the hospitality of Zimbabwe team. Players of Zimbabwe cricket team thanked the hospitality and love of Pakistan government and people.
