LAHORE – Pakistan and Zimbabwe will be taking the field in the final One-day International of the three-match series at the Gaddafi Stadium here on Sunday with different aims in their minds.
The hosts will aim to complete a clean sweep to keep alive their 2017 Champions Trophy aspirations.But for the Zimbabweans, who are 11th in the ICC rankings,will try to end their brief tour on a high since they had also lost the preceding T20 series 2-0.
The PCB has already announced on Friday that the tickets for the second and third matches were sold out. But Sunday’s fixture will indicate how many ticket holders will come to Gaddafi Stadium to watch the match in the wake of the blast.
Pakistan will be pleased by the impressive form of fast bowler Wahab Riaz, who is the leading wicket-taker of the series. In contrast, fast bowler Mohammad Sami is still waiting for his first wicket after having conceded 116 runs in the first two ODIs.
A peaceful end to the series will surely lead to more teams visiting Pakistan in the future.
