AMRITSAR – The white-colored bird was found by a local resident in India’s Punjab state, which borders Pakistan, and taken to a police station 25 miles from the capital Amritsar on Thursday.
Indian police officials are conducting high level of investigation from pigeon, and they have medically examined each body part of pigeon to find any clue of its being spying for Pakistan.
According to Indian Media, the pigeon had a ring around its foot and a Pakistani telephone number and address stamped on its body in red ink.
Ramdas Station House Offcier (SHO), Jagjit Singh Chahal, said he suspected that the pigeon had landed on Indian soil from Pakistan with a message, although no trace of a note has been found.
Chahal said he had been asked by his seniors not to leave the police station or to proceed on leave until the fate of pigeon was decided.
According to Indian Media, the number ‘303-6284620’ was written in red on the pigeon’s feathers along with a rubber stamp — Islamabad Wazirabad Pakistan.
Interestingly India is among those countries propagating human rights and welfare of people and society all the time, but this case of nabbing innocent bird on suspicion and carrying out tough examination of its body and each feather depict the narrow mindedness of India.
SHO Chalal said that we have crude evidences that pigeon is from Pakistan, and there is huge chances of its using spying in Indian soil.
He further said that we will not let go pigeon until we find its linkages with Pakistan and secretive agencies of Pakistan.
Indian Police seemed much satisfied over their arresting pigeon proving that there is no free space for even birds in the largest democracy of the world.
