KARACHI: The Court on Wednesday sent Axact CEO Shoaib Shaikh and six others on physical remand to Federal Investigation Agency till June 4, local media reported.
According to details, the court has ordered FIA for the medical checkup of Shoaib Shaikh – also produce him before the court on June 4 with challan.
The FIR was registered under Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and the accused have been booked under sections 420, 468, 471, 472, 473, 474, 477-A, 109 and 34.
Special laws were also invoked against the accused under sections 36 and 37 sections of the Electronic Transaction Ordinance 2002 and section 3/4 of the Anti-Money Laundering Act of 2010.
Axact’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) Vikas Atiq also handcuffed and taken to court.
All six accused were produced before the South magistrate.
The arrest followed a late-night raid on the offices of Axact on Khayaban-e-Ittehad in DHA, where thousands of fake degrees of various bogus universities, diplomas and student cards were found and seized from the company’s headquarters.
