One More Died Of Congo Virus

ISLAMABAD – It is being reported that a patient suffering from Congo virus has lost the fight of his life.

Muhammad Ashraf was admitted in Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Islamabad where he died.

Since the start of year 2015, the total number of causalities due to Congo virus has reached 2.

Crimean–Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) is a widespread tick-borne viral disease that is endemic in Africa, the Balkans, the Middle East and Asia.

The Disease carried by several domestic and wild animals. While clinical disease is rare in infected animals, it is severe in infected humans, with a mortality rate of 10-40%.

Outbreaks of illness are usually attributable to tick bites or contact with infected animals or people.
