MULTAN – It is being reported that the roof of a school at Muzaffar Garh road collapsed. The rescue officials reached the incident immediately after being informed by the local public.
The DCO Multan, Zahid Aslam Gondal received a notice from the Punjab government to take necessary steps and ensure all possible assistance for the rescue operation.
A 3-membered committee has been formed to investigate the reasons of collapse by the DCO. Police has arrested the school principal. According to the rescue sources, 39 students including school teachers have been rescued so far.
Chief Minister Punjab, Mian Shahbaz Sharif has taken strong exception of the incident and has ordered the district government to ensure best medical treatment for the injured students.
